Bisphenol-A Epoxy Vinyl Ester Resins

Our range of premium Bisphenol-A type epoxy vinyl ester resins excel in providing resistance to a wide range of acids, alkalis, bleaches and solvents used in many chemical processing industry applications. Furthermore, they are heavily used in luxury and outdoor markets most notably in swimming pools, marine and sporting goods.

Their clarity and ease of use ensure quality finishes in tough laminates.

Please refer to the Safety Data Sheets for our vinyl ester resins below.

Resin Storage

Vinyl ester resins should be stored in a cool and dry place that is out of direct sunlight. The storage temperature should be maintained below 25°C and it should be kept away from all sources of heat which might create localised hot spots.

The shelf life of the product may be shortened when improper storage or transportation has occurred due to polymerization. Exposure to direct sunlight or other sources of high temperature can lead to dangerous exotherms with rapid polymerization.

Copper and alloy that contains copper should not come into contact with the resin.

All Vinyl Ester Resins should be stored separately from oxidizing materials, peroxides and metals.

Product expiry is 3 months from RF Composites' manufacturing date.

MFE-11 Vinyl Ester Resin MFE-711 Vinyl Ester Resin MFE-711-200 MFE-722
Description High Corrosion resin, excellent for corrosion applications; specially developed to exceed in marine and pool applications. High Corrosion Resistance Vinyl Ester for use in the manufacture of Chemical Process Equipment. MFE 711-200 is a low viscosity version of MFE-711. This vinyl ester resin is principally designed for RTM & Vacuum Infusion Processes. MFE-722 is a cost effective vinyl ester resin technology that delivers excellent corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, good wettability and processability, whilst utilising standard catalyst system.

Benefits MFE-11 is Lloyds approved and is subsequently well received in the marine industry. It is also an excellent resin for chemical tanks, swimming pool skin layers, pipes and corrosive environments. MFE-11 is available unwaxed, waxed and XLE and across various gel times. Easy workability with good air drying, whilst enabling shorter gel-to-cure intervals, thus reducing internal stress cracking, The resin’s improved reactivity properties permit an increase in the lay-up thickness per session. Higher elongation provides FRP equipment with increased toughness. When properly formulated and cured, it complies with FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.2420, covering materials intended for repeated use in contact with food. Longer shelf life provides additional flexibility to fabricators in storage and handling. Lower viscosity version of MFE-711, providing excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance as for MFE-711. Effectively wet out with glass fiber. Excellent corrosion resistance, especially to alkali. Low shrinkage and superior toughness. Suitable for thick composite parts. Excellent and acid, alkali and solvent resistance. High heat distortion temperature (HDT) of pure resin casting is 130℃. Used for various types of anti-corrosive FRP products, such as storage tank, fume stacks and pipeline, to name a few.
