Process Polyester Resins - RTM, Infusion, Silicone Bag

RF Composites recognises the growth in the closed molding market.  As such we will be developing and revitalising product ranges across fibrous products, machinery and ancillaries.  Furthermore, we are presenting a series of resins targeting this closed mold market.  These will include Orthophthalic, Ortho/DCDP, Isophthalic, Iso/DCPD and Terephthalic resins.  For closed molding vinyl ester resins please consider our vinyl ester resins and most notably MFE-711-200.

Please see the following range of polyesters below to decide what best meets your needs.

Poliset 9505 Terephthalic Resin Poliset R401 Ortho Resin Poliset R405-O Ortho/DCPD Resin Poliset R405-I Iso/DCPD Resin
Description Poliset 9505 is un-promoted Terephthalic type unsaturated polyester resin with low viscosity, high HDT, high corrosion resistance and higher reactivity. Suitable for all forms of closed molding. R-401 is specially designed for the production of waterproof board, building materials, automobile parts, water tanks, etc., by the resin transfer molding(RTM) technique. R405-O is a low viscosity, fast wet out, low shrink resins suitable for automotive, RV, building materials, etc.. Poliset R405-I is an Iso/DCPD resin, with low shrink, fast wet out, yielding a tougher product due to improved resilience. Suitable for RTM and silicone bagging applications.

Application Processes Though originally designed as a UL approved it is equally impressive in close mold applications. It demonstrates: • Corrosion resistance with improved toughness • Ideal for high temperature, mildly corrosive service conditions • Can be used for single wall UST (Underground Storage Tank) or the inner and/or outer walls of secondary containment Type I or Type II UST • Superior corrosion and blister resistance • Can replace more expensive vinyl ester resins in some service conditions • Consistent batch-to-batch performance. The low viscosity and cure rate suit RTM manufacture for high turn over parts. Includes internal release to ensure good release with no or minimal deposit on mold. A superior closed molding resin excellent handling properties, fast turnover and minimal shrinkage. Suitable for automotive RV, marine, building and general lamination. Any where fast mold turn around times and low shrinkage is required.
Benefits • High molecular weight, high crosslink density terephthalic polymer • 126°C HDT with good tensile toughness • Good acid, salt solution and polar solvent resistance • Fast cure time allowing for fast demold. • Extremely fast wet out. • Good mechanical characteristics. • Fast cure in thin section. • High filler loading possible •Excellent wetting properties. •Good mechanical characteristics. •Good resistance to cracking and low shrinkage. •Fast cure in thin section. •Excellent wetting properties. •Good mechanical characteristics. •Good resistance to cracking and low shrinkage. •Fast cure in thin section.
